Davao de Oro Province— 14 days have passed and finally, 33 passengers will get a chance to be with their families again.
It can be recalled that the Provincial Government of Davao de Oro gave support as they catered the needs of the stranded passengers who were pulled over in the borders of Pasian Monkayo, Davao de Oro last March 21, 2020 including a one-year-old baby and sheltered them in a facility owned by the Provincial Local Government (PLGU) at Lamdag Agri-Eco Tourism Farm.
The passengers were from various towns outside the province. A coordination with the respective LGUs were made prior to their release. 3 passengers were from Davao Oriental, 1 passenger from Davao del Norte, 1 from Davao de Oro, 11 passengers from BARMM (Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao), 8 passengers from Region 12 and 9 passengers from Davao City.
Prior to boarding, goods as well as a medical certificate was given to each passenger as proof that they are now in good condition after being quarantined for 14 days as one of the pre-cautionary measures set by the government in fighting the transmission of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19). Thankfully no eventualities happened as the 2 PUIs, one driver and one passenger turned out to be negative of the dreaded disease after undergoing several tests.
“Kami po bilang magkakaiba ng lugar at magkakaiba ng relihiyon, muslim man o kristyano nagkakaisa po kami dito at nagpapasalamat po talaga kami nag buong-puso sa ginawa po nilang pag-tulong sa amin.” said one of the passengers from Cotabato City.
With the helping hands made by various government agencies spearheaded by the Provincial Government of Davao de Oro, these passengers will now be back to their families and are still advised to continually observe measures related to fight against Covid-19. (Jasteen Abella, ID DAVAO DE ORO)
