A prestigious award is yet to come for Davao de Oro as the province qualifies for the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) 2022 Awards of the Department of Interior and Local Government right after a validation team from DILG conducted the SGLG National Validation in the province on August 23, 2022.
A team from DILG Northern Mindanao headed by Assistant Regional Director Yvette T. Sunga, CESO V, were accompanied by DILG Davao de Oro Provincial Director Noel C. Duarte and LGOO VII Ivy Mae Esteban during the conduct of the validation.
Provincial Governor Dorothy Montejo Gonzaga with the provincial government department heads welcomed the team from DILG, and participated in the conduct of the event. In her message, Governor Gonzaga accentuated the significance of a well-performing workforce of the provincial government to further raise the bar of standards for an excellent governance.
According to DILG, the official national validation results of the SGLG will be released on October, to be followed by an awarding ceremony on December this year.
The SGLG awards is an incentive honor and recognition-based program of the DILG based on the performance of a Local Government Unit across ten (10) key areas of governance: Fiscal administration, Disaster Preparedness, Social protection, Peace and Order, Business-friendliness and Competitiveness, Environmental Management, and Tourism, Culture and Arts.
