A total of thirty-five (35) Junior Youth Officials of Davao de Oro took their oath of office before Governor Dorothy Montejo-Gonzaga on August 22, 2022 right after the regular convocation at the Capitol Ground.
Dianne Louise C. Largosa, a resident of Compostela, was elected as the Junior Provincial Governor, while Kyle Harvey C. Renigado of Monkayo was the Junior Provincial Vice-Governor.
Board Member Charlemagne B. Bautista, Sangguniang Kabataan Provincial Federation President, said that the junior officials are tasked to handle week-long immersion in their designated offices and counterpart provincial officials as part of their training, duties, and responsibilities.
He also encourages the officials and different heads of offices to warmly welcome and guide the equivalent junior youth officials as they engage in quality public service and bureaucratic leadership.
BM Bautista added that the program is part of the celebration of the Linggo ng Kabataan (LNK) and 2022 International Youth Day with the theme: “Intergenerational Solidarity: Creating a World for All Ages.”
On August 19, 2022, the orientation, election, and sashing of the first ever junior youth officials of the province was successfully conducted through the support of the Office of the Governor, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office – Youth Development Division.
In her message, Governor Gonzaga thanked the SK Federation and the DILG, headed by Provincial Director Noel C. Duarte, for the unending support to the youth sector in honing their skills and abilities in serving the public.
She also emphasized the importance of “genuine public service” as these young individuals aspire to become the image of resilience and inspiration, the bearers of change and hope through dedicating their time and abilities to building a better Davao de Oro for all ages.
