GOVERNOR’S WEEKLY REPORT || AUGUST 1-5, 2022
August 5, 2022
Public officials, provincial employees, and partners from the national government agencies gathered at the provincial government’s capitol lobby during the Civil Service Commission Anniversary opening ceremony spearheaded by the Provincial Human Resource Management and Development Office (PHRDMO).
Every September of the year is Civil Service Month under Presidential Proclamation No. 1050, s. 1997. The CSC Month is an opportunity to recognize public servants who relentlessly dedicated themselves to public service towards nation-building and development.
This year’s theme, “Transforming Public Service in the Next Decade: Honing Agile and Future-Ready Servant Heroes,” is anchored on CSC’s plan to capacitate civil servants concerning the need for time. The theme also highlights the role of human resources in molding a competent and credible workforce in the new setting.
CSC-DdO Acting Director II Ruby A. Espanola also graced the event as the resource speaker and reiterated the 4Cs in public service: Commitment to public service, Competence development, Contribution, and Connection towards finding reason and purpose as civil servants.
Further, Governor Dorothy Montejo-Gonzaga was also present at the event and conveyed that public servants should always live according to their oath. “Puy-an gyud nato ang atung gipanumpa kay dili tanan gihatagan ug katigayunan,” said Governor Gonzaga. The governor also added another important “C” aside from the 4C’s highlighted by the resource speaker, saying “conscience” should also prevail in delivering public service.
PLGU-DdO’s Human Resource Management and Development Office, headed by Lara Zaphire Kristy N. Bermejo, prepared various activities for the month-long celebration, including professional development seminars, workshops, and exercises to showcase creativity and sportsmanship among the employees.
The month-long celebration is divided into four: the Linggo ng mga Bayani, Linggo ng Paglilinang ng Yamang Tao, Linggo ng Malasakit,and the Linggo ng Pasasalamat. On the same day, the new “Opisina sa Katawhan” officially opened its doors to the public. Governor Gonzaga, together with the Provincial Board Members, Heads of the National Government Agencies, Academe and Judiciary, graced the blessing ceremony officiated by Fr. Adok Biliran.
