GOVERNOR’S WEEKLY REPORT || AUGUST 1-5, 2022
August 5, 2022
A total of 18 Sanguniang Kabataan (SK) Councils, out of 237 SK Councils, in Davao de Oro got outstanding remarks during this year’s Sangguniang Kabataan Functionality Assessment (SKFA) led by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) – Youth Development Division (YDD) of the Provincial Government.
PSWDO-YDD presented the 18 official qualifiers on their Facebook page, Davao de Oro Youth Development Office. These qualifiers were chosen using an assessment tool designed to evaluate four key indicators: Human Resources (Mobilization and Capacity Building, and Functionality), Administrative Requirements, Transparency, and Youth Development Agenda.
Additionally, the SK Functionality Provincial Validation, which involves the accomplishments of Municipal Youth Development Offices (MYDO) and Municipal Youth Development Councils (MYDC), is scheduled to commence on August 10, 2023.
Thus, the outcome of this validation will determine the Top 3 SK Officials, Local Youth Development Officers, and MYDCs. Their exceptional performance will be recognized during the Davao de Oro Youth Awards (Gabi ng Parangal) on August 31, 2023. This event is the culmination of International Youth Day and Linggo ng Kabataan 2023 celebrations in the province.
Further, the SKFA is an evaluation process conducted to assess Youth Councils’ performance and effectiveness in carrying out their functions and responsibilities in serving the youth in their respective communities. The findings from this assessment are utilized to provide direction and assistance to SK councils in improving their effectiveness as champions of youth development at the local level.
