Over the last 10 years, Journalism has undergone a major transformation giving smartphones a crucial role in news consumption and dissemination today. With this, a two-day training on “Mobile Journalism: Maximizing New Media Storytelling through Photo and Video” has been organized for the communicators coming from National Government Agencies, Provincial Government, and Local Government Units of Davao de Oro.
The training took place at the SP Multipurpose Hall, Legislative Building, Provincial Capitol Complex, Nabunturan on March 23-24, 2023 with resource speaker Info Center Manager Michael L. Uy of PIA XI.
The participants had the chance to navigate the power of their smartphones, thereby showcasing their creativity in photography, making social media cards, and video news reports, among others with the help of emerging technological innovations such as Canva, CapCut, and the like.
With the help of their smartphones and equipped skills, government communicators have provided a pocket-sized media hub where they could now easily disseminate relevant, timely, and factual information to the general public anytime, anywhere.
Further, the training was successfully conducted through the efforts of the Provincial Government thru the PAO-Information and Public Relations Division, Prov’l Human Resource Management and Development Office, in partnership with the Philippine Information Agency XI.
