Davao De Oro Province – Numbers of locals enjoy a full day of enrichment as they celebrate a day full of fun activities and competitions in plan for the “Bulawanong Kabatan-onan” or “Youth Events” participants who wish to join the competitions for the said event.
The celebration was held at the capitol mega tent on March 5, 2019, and is part of the province’s set of scheduled events for the 12th Bulawan Festival celebration from March 3 to 8, 2019.
Activities included are the Spoken Word Poetry Contest, IP and Muslim Youth Extemporaneous Speech, Doodle Making Contest, Himig de Oro, Recyclo Motion Fashion Walk Contest, Lantugi sa de Oro: Interschool Debate Competition, and Sayaw de Oro 2019.
Opening the event, Hon. Arturo T. Uy gave out his opening remarks, thanking and encouraging the youth for their participation of the event. National A guest for the event, Youth Commission (NYC) Officer for Davao City, Mayjee De La Cruz, also gave a message of praise for the local youths who have participated and attended the event. Filipino celebrity and actor Dominic Roque also was a guest during the event, performing a few hits to entice the crowd.
For the Spoken Word of Poetry contest, the contestant from the Municipality of Monkayo was hailed as the winner of the contest, followed by the entry of the Municipality of Nabunturan as the 1st runner up, and then the entry from the Municipality of Laak as the 2nd runner up.
The Recyclo Motion Fashion Walk crowned the entry of the Municipality of Pantukan as the champion for the contest, followed by the Municipality of Mabini and Municipality of Maragusan winning 1st and 2nd runners up, respectively.
An entry from the Municipality of Nabunturan was crowned as the winner for the Doodle Making Contest, followed by an entry from the Municipality of Montevista, winning 1st runner up, and an entry from the Municipality of New Bataan, winning 2nd runner up.
The Himig de Oro Songwriting Contest was won by the Municipality of Mawab, followed by the Municipality of Monkayo as the 1st runner up and the Municipality of Mabini as the 2nd runner up.
The competition for the Lantugi sa de Oro: Interschool Debate was won by Ram Julius Marababol, Trinie Joy De La Cruz, and Ian Christian Zerrudo, the representatives from Compostela National High School.
One of the most highlighted competitions was the Sayaw de Oro Contest where participants from all over the province were able to showcase their talent in dancing. The Municipality of Maragusan was able to bag the winning entries for Best in Duo and Best in Quadro, later being crowned as the 1st runner up for the overall competition.
A participant representing the Municipality of Compostela also won for the Solo Dance Competition along with another set of contestants from the same area won as champions for the Best Mega Crew, later hailing them as the overall champion for the Sayaw de Oro competition.
