Comval Province celebrates “National Children’s Month Celebration”
Compostela Valley Province— Compostela Valley Province celebrates “National Children’s Month Celebration”.November 2019 marks the 30th anniversary of the UN CRC as well as the 27th year of National Children’s Month (NCM). By the virtue of the Republic Act 10661, the National Children’s Month (NCM) in the Philippines which commemorates the adoption of the UNCRC (United Nations Conventions on the Rights of the Child) is annually celebrated every November.
This year’s celebration anchors on the UN CRC and the 3rd National Plan of Action for Children (NPAC) goals to progressively realize the rights of children. The three goals are; Children have a better quality and improved way of life, children are well-nourished, have healthy lives and active learners with good quality education, children are safe and free from violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation and lastly children are actively participating in decision-making processes affecting their lives according to their evolving capacities.
With the theme “Karapatang Pambata: Patuloy na Pahalagahan at Gampanan Tungo sa Magandang Kinabukasan” the 2019 NCM focuses on the rights of the child.
In line with the long-month celebration, the Provincial Government of Compostela Valley thru the Provincial Council for the Protection of Children (PCPC) will be conducting the following major activities are Provincial Children’s Congress, Local State of the Children’s Report of Governor Jayvee Tyron Uy, Provincial Bulilit Festival and other simultaneous activities in the Municipal level are the girls week, child and youth forum, local state of children’s report (barangay and municipal), bulilit fun day and the children’s congress.
