Davao De Oro to hold 11th BSP Comval Council Jamboree and Kab-O-Rama
The Provincial Government of Davao De Oro, in partnership with the Department of Education (DepED) and Boy Scouts of the Philippines, prepares for the upcoming 11th BSP Comval Council Jamboree and Kab-O-Rama on September 27 – October 1, 2017 to be held at the back of the provincial capitol.
To encourage more students to join the activity, Governor Tyron Uy allowed the students to wear the Type C uniform instead of the usual Type B uniform. Unlike the usual uniform, the type C uniform only consist of white t-shirt, short pants uniform and BSP neckerchiefs – making it less expensive. He also implemented the mandate of the council to conduct a free school-based Boy Scout encampment for those who cannot join the provincial jamboree.
With the theme, “Growth and Stability,” this year, is by far has the highest number of delegates in the history of Davao De Oro’s Provincial Jamboree. A total of 2,600 boy scouts are expected to participate in the event.
Some of the activities include Fancy drill, Sub-Camp Campfire, Dawn Peace Walk, Three Legged Race, Skinning the Snake and Challenge Valley.
According to Mr. Marjun Dawan, BSP Council Scout Executive of Davao De Oro, the participants of the Provincial Jamboree will be the official delegates of Comval in the 6th ASEAN Scout Jamboree in Tagum City on Nov. 27 – Dec 2, 2017. (Sheldane Mahinay // IDS Davao De Oro)
