The spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork was on full display at the grand opening ceremony and Mayors’ Night of the Davao de Oro Provincial Athletic Association Meet 2025 in Maragusan Municipal Sports Complex.
Athletes, coaches, and officials from all eleven municipalities marched together, uniting the province in a celebration of athleticism.
The event was graced by esteemed guests including Governor Dorothy Montejo-Gonzaga, Regional Sports Director Alim Maguindanao, Congressman Ruwel Peter Gonzaga, OIC Schools Division Superintendent Phoebe Gay Refamonte, Mayor Angelito Cabalquinto of Maragusan, and other officials, demonstrating strong community support for the DDOPAA Meet 2025.
In her remarks, Governor Gonzaga expressed pride in the athletes and highlighted the significant role of sports in promoting unity and community development. “This event not only celebrates the skills and talents of our young athletes, but also the values of discipline, respect, and perseverance that sports instill in our lives,” she said.
The DdOPAA Meet features a wide range of sporting events, including athletics, basketball, volleyball, and swimming, with participants vying for top honors.
