The provincial government of Davao de Oro through the PAO-Information and Public Relations Division headed by Information Officer IV Fe F. Maestre spearheaded a two-day training on Development Journalism dubbed as “News and Feature Writing” at the Sanitary Function Hall, Nabunturan on September 28-29, 2022.
Davao Bureau Chief Che Palicte from the Philippine News Agency (PNA) facilitated the first day of the training and Writer/Reporter Ruth Palo from the Manila Times on the second day, where they both shared their expertise.
The said training capacitated communicators from National Government Agencies (NGAs) , offices of the provincial government and municipal local government units with the relevant skills as the province aims to strengthen the communication programs that will provide timely, truthful, and relevant information to the public.
Executive Assistant III for Communication and Public Information, Edward Macapili, said in his message that the people have the right to access public information in terms of the programs and activities of the government.
“Hopefully we can exercise and apply what we have learned in consonance with the nature of our work and office, so we can deliver responsible information to the public, “said EA Macapili.
Moreover, this endeavor is among the steps towards realizing the effective and efficient dissemination of information in the province. (JF, PAO-IPRD)
