August 5, 2022
The Youth Development Division (YDD) of PLGU-Davao de Oro successfully conducted the annual convergence of the provincial government’s Samahan ng mga Iskolars ng Davao De Oro (SID) dubbed “Pagkighimamat” in four municipalities in the province during the weekend.
DdOSP’s municipal chapters in Montevista and Monkayo held the pakighimamat on Saturday, followed by the Laak and Maco chapter on Sunday. The pakighimamat provides an avenue for establishing good fellowship among the new and existing scholars of DdOSP. The pakighimammat also includes an orientation for contemporary scholars on the activities of their municipal and school chapters, reminders, and other matters concerning the program.
During the events, Governor Dorothy Montejo-Gonzaga was represented by Executive Assistants Edward B. Macapili, and Dennis B. Anduyan. They congratulated and encouraged the scholars to take the opportunity awarded to them as a gateway to obtaining a better tomorrow.
According to the YDD, the provincial government’s scholarship program has four hundred eleven (411) scholars, ninety-two (92) of which are new grantees. Among these new grantees are sixteen scholars who made it to the prioritized category.
The pakighimamat conducted over the weekend was participated by 62 scholars in Maco, 24 in Laak, 20 in Montevista, and 20 in Monkayo. On their official social media pages, various DdOSP-SID Municipal Chapters expressed their gratitude to the provincial government thru the scholarship program as this will bring them on a new journey.
