GOVERNOR’S WEEKLY REPORT || AUGUST 1-5, 2022
August 5, 2022
After the successful installation of 85 wall fans inside and outside the wards of Davao de Oro Provincial Hospital (DDOPH) in Montevista last week, Team Lambo Davao de Oro through the leadership of Governor Raul Mabanglo, Congresswoman Maricar Zamora-Mabanglo, and Congressman Leonel “Jhong” Ceniza delivered another form of relief to patients by providing new beds for added comfort to the patients in the same hospital and its three other counterparts in different Municipalities on July 14.
A total of 60 hospital beds with foam were turned-over through a donation last July 14, 2025 from generous individuals and friends of the governor and the congresswoman and congressman of the province.

Right after the ceremonial turn-over, these new equipments were delivered swiftly to all the provincial hospitals including Montevista.
Aside from easing the burden of patients, the beneficiaries also felt the importance given to them by the current administration.
“Comfortable and convenient”, this is how Marjorie Gura, one of the patients at DDOPH Montevista described the beds as one of the first recipients of the donated equipment.

“Ang naabtan namo diri walay foam so dili jud comfortable sa akua nga nay tahi samot mulingkod. So karon na naa nay bag-ong bed, mas convenient na sa akua kay naa nay foam ug ma-adjust adjust ang likod.”
(“When we arrive, the bed has no foam so it’s not comfortable for me to move around especially with stitches from the surgery, it was painful to sit. Now, it is more convenient to move around since the bed is complete with foam and we can fully adjust it.” )

Rendel Balaod, Marjorie’s watcher also compared their experience from the first day, stating the measures he did to make his partner and baby’s stay comfortable. He felt sorry for them so he always made sure to layer so many bedsheets on top of the bare old bed.
“Grabe kaayo akong kalipay nga ang akong pasyente ug baby dili na mag-amping sa paglihok kay nakafoam naman daan … Sa karong panahuna, dili na kaayo ta maguol sa atong mga pasyente kay naa naman mga bag-ong bed na mas komportable na sila makahiga.”
(“I am truly grateful for the beds as my patient and baby can now move freely without worry since the new bed is also equipped with new foam … These days, we can rest assured that our worries will be lessened and our patients can lie down comfortably.”)

The Chief of Hospital of DDOPH Montevista, Dr. Ferdinand Anthony C. Soberano thanked the officials of the province for their prompt action.
“Sa kadugay-dugay na panahon we have been reliant on DOH for their donations for our equipments and for our infrastructure … We are thankful na nakita niyo ang aming situation. It is always been our battle cry na sana makita ang aming situation.”
(“For the longest time, we have been reliant on what DOH can donate to our hospital for equipment and infrastructure. We are thankful that the governor and the congressman and congresswoman saw our situation. It is always been our battle cry that someone would hopefully notice our situation.”)
He also thanked the individuals behind the generous donation for supporting the initiatives of the local government.
“We are very thankful that after a long time, after we have been struck by an earthquake, that appropriate help has arrived to us and has added to our needed equipment and supplies and infrastructure to the hospital.”

Out of the 60 bedding sets, 40 were delivered to DDOPH Montevista, 10 to Maragusan, five to Pantukan and five were also given to Laak provincial hospitals.
More donations are expected for the rehabilitation of the provincial hospitals through the collaborative effort of the leaders of the province and their friends from Team Lambo Davao de Oro.
It can be recalled that the lack of proper beds was among the first few problems identified by Gov. Mabanglo, Cong. Maricar, and Cong. Jhong during their visit to all the hospitals of the province. The delivery of new beds is a testament of their strong commitment and fast action towards solving the health problems in the province.
