Kahimunan Festival
KAHIMUNAN is a Dibabawon term for tribal unity and cultural solidarity aptly mirrored by the annual festival that brings together the municipality’s different ethnic communities. The festival was originally celebrated every last three days of October to culminate the observance of the Municipal Indigenous People’s Day. It showcases the wealth of culture and arts of the different tribes. In 2011, the festival committee integrates the usual Laak Fruit Festival in the celebration and moved the schedule to September 21 when fruits are flourishing in the municipality. The festival described as a tribute to the indigenous Peoples and a thanksgiving to the blessings from Magbabaya.
A festival of get-together among the four tribes of Laak – the Dibabawon, Mandaya, Mansaka, and Muslim. It showcases bountiful fruit harvests from each barangay. The town is 83.48 kilometres from the capital Nabunturan or about 50 kilometres from Tagum City..
