An opening and turn-over ceremony was held at the “G-Works Kampo Uno” Temporary Resettlement area located at the Immaculate Conception Quasi Parish in Brgy. Elizalde, Maco, Davao de Oro on March 8, 2024.
The initial 89 tents were already set up to house the internally displaced families (IDPs) affected during the tragic Masara incident, particularly, the families who came from Brgy. Masara.
Gov. Dorothy Montejo-Gonzaga once again thanked the Philippine Red Cross for the tent provision and the Diocese of Tagum through Bishop Midel Aseo for allowing the temporary relocation site in the area.
Cong. Ruwel Peter Gonzaga, Maco Mayor Arthur Carlos Voltaire Rimando, and other provincial and local officials also graced the ceremony.
Aside from the all-weatherproof tent, kitchen, toilet, and bathroom areas were also provided for the families.
Meanwhile, another temporary relocation site is also ongoing preparation located in Brgy. Malamodao, Maco which targets to have an additional 160 tents to be put up for the other IDPs still affected by the landslide incident.//
