August 5, 2022
Governor Engr. Raul Mabanglo, together with First District Congresswoman Maricar Zamora-Mabanglo and Mayor Cesar Colina Sr., toured several tourist destinations in Maragusan, a town rich in natural treasures.
According to Maragusan Tourism Officer Joeffer S. Bebat, Governor Engr. Raul G. Mabanglo is the first provincial governor to reach the highest point of Pyalitan Falls during an ocular inspection on August 2, 2025.
Governor Raul personally experienced the beauty of the town’s natural tourist spots—an indication of their strong vision to further develop tourism in the municipality.

“Atong ibalik ang Maragusan sa mapa sa turismo. Kini gyud ang atong targeton …”
“Let’s put Maragusan back on the tourism map. This is truly our target…” Governor Mabanglo said, urging everyone to visit and support the town’s tourism sector.
Similarly, Congresswoman Maricar Zamora-Mabanglo expressed her support in revitalizing Maragusan’s tourism potential:
“This, I think, is the right time for Maragusan to rebirth itself. Maragusan has all the potential… we see this as the gateway to tourism development.”

Mayor Colina, on the other hand, expressed gratitude and optimism for the support they received:
“Ang atong turismo sa Maragusan—karong adlawa, hayag na kaayo ang direksyon!”
“Today, the direction of Maragusan’s tourism is brighter than ever!”

Governor Mabanglo, Congresswoman Maricar, and Mayor Colina also held discussions with municipal department heads and several private investors to tackle ongoing collaborations and necessary measures for the continuous growth of the town’s tourism sector.

It can be recalled that Maragusan was once known as the “Summer Capital of Davao Region” due to its cool climate and rich natural resources—ranging from waterfalls, mountains, and flora, including the world’s largest flower, the “Rafflesia.”
