Gov. Mabanglo Pushes Urgent Upgrades for Pantukan Provincial Hospital

Governor Raul Mabanglo immediately responded to the concerns of the people regarding the needs of the Davao de Oro Provincial Hospital (DdOPH) in Pantukan, in line with his commitment to provide urgent solutions to the hospital’s lack of facilities.

Together with Second District Congressman Leonel “Jhong” Ceniza, Pantukan Mayor Oliver “Noy” D. Ceniza, the Provincial Engineer’s Office (PEO), and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), they personally inspected the proposed improvements and rehabilitation of key hospital infrastructure.

Through strong collaboration, Cong. Ceniza allocated P100 million for the rehabilitation of the hospital’s front building. This includes the expansion of the Outpatient Department and Emergency Room to accommodate and serve more patients.

The congressman is working to expedite the release of the funds while awaiting approval from the Department of Health (DOH) to revise the hospital’s infrastructure.

According to OIC Chief of Hospital Jose Mychel Sebumpan:

‎“Nakita nga nagkadaghan ang mga pasyente, so para maserbisyohan dayon ang mga pasyente, kinahanglan e-expand ang emergency room, outpatient department, ug laboratory.”

(“We’ve observed a growing number of patients, so to better serve them, we need to expand the emergency room, outpatient department, and laboratory.”)

Governor Mabanglo also plans to construct a two-storey building with a roof deck to provide additional facilities for outpatient services.

In addition to First District Congresswoman Maricar Zamora-Mabanglo’s commitment of P50 million for the Medical Assistance to Indigent and Financially Incapacitated Patients (MAIFIP) program, she is also exploring ways to improve the hospital’s infrastructure through the DPWH.

Upgrading provincial hospitals is one of the top priority programs under the Lambo Davao de Oro agenda, led by Gov. Mabanglo, Cong. Zamora, and Cong. Jhong, as a response to the need for quality and accessible healthcare services for the people of the province.
