Gov Uy receives award from Eastern Mindanao Command
Panacan, Davao City- Compostela Valley Governor Jayvee Tyron L. Uy received an award from the Eastern Mindanao Command (EMC), Philippine Army during EMC’s 13th founding anniversary last August 26, 2019 at the Eastern Mindanao Command Headquarters, Panacan, Davao City. He personally received the award from Sec. Delfin Lorenzana of the Department of National Defense and Gen Filemon Santos, Commanding General of the Eastern Mindanao Command.
Governor Uy was recognized by the Eastern Mindanao Command for his unrelenting support to the cause of peace. Governor Uy served as Chair of the Regional Peace and Order Council of Davao Region from 2016-2019. It was during his time that the Davao Regional Peace, Development and Security Roadmap 2019-2034 was crafted. As governor, he also initiated Oplan Pagbabago-ELCAC, a program that aims to bring peace and development initiatives in the province’s Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA).
Other notable personalities who also received awards include Davao Oriental Governor Nelson Dayanghirang, Mindanao-based peace advocate Irene Santiago and Davao City Councilor Mabel Sunga-Acosta.
The young governor was thankful to the award extended to him by the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
“This award belongs to all peace-loving Comvalenyo. I thank the Eastern Mindanao Command for recognizing all our efforts. This will further fuel our aspiration to finally secure enduring peace for our province”, Gov. Uy said.
