Governor Mabanglo Commends Taekwondo Athletes for International Victory

Governor Raul Mabanglo honored two young athletes from Mabini, Davao de Oro, who brought home three gold medals from the 8th Heroes International Taekwondo Championship held in Pattaya, Thailand, on August 10, 2025.

During the Capitol’s Flag Ceremony and Convocation, Governor Mabanglo personally recognized Vonn “Duday” Bucio and King Travis Dahab, together with their coach Mike Wright Entize of Mabini DDO Taekwondo Academy and their proud parents.

Ten-year-old Duday captured victories in speed kicking and poomsae taeguk 5 under the Under-11 category, while 14-year-old King emerged triumphant in the kyorugi (sparring) event under the Under-15 division.

As a gesture of gratitude for bringing pride not only to the Municipality of Mabini but also to the entire province on the international stage, Governor Mabanglo extended his financial support to the athletes.

The athletes, along with their coach and parents, expressed their heartfelt joy and gratitude for the Governor’s recognition and encouragement of their achievements.
