Governor Raul Mabanglo made a meaningful visit to Bahay Pag-Asa in Sta. Maria, Nabunturan, Davao de Oro on July 19, 2025 reaffirming the provincial government’s commitment to rehabilitating Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL) by proposing improved facilities and encouraging the youth to embrace second chances.

He was warmly welcomed by Ms. Miraflor Lejarzo, Center Head and Social Welfare Officer III, who expressed heartfelt gratitude for the Governor’s presence.
“𝘏𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘭𝘺, 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘣𝘦 𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘬𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘺 𝘯𝘨𝘢 𝘨𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘯 𝘮𝘪𝘨 𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘴 𝘯𝘪 𝘎𝘰𝘷. 𝘛𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘰𝘥 𝘨𝘺𝘶𝘥 𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘺 𝘯𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘭𝘪𝘣𝘰𝘵-𝘭𝘪𝘣𝘰𝘵 𝘴𝘪𝘺𝘢,” matud pa niya.
“Honestly, we are overwhelmed with joy that Governor Raul took time to visit us. He really does go around personally,” she shared.
Instead of the fence they initially requested, it was Governor Raul himself who suggested proposing an entirely new building as part of their plans, which would include a library, prayer room, and other essential facilities.

“𝘍𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘯𝘨𝘢 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘵 𝘮𝘪 𝘶𝘨 𝘨𝘰𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘥𝘰𝘳 𝘯𝘨𝘢 𝘨𝘪𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘤𝘬 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴,”
“This is the first time a governor has visited us and actually inspected our facilities,” Ms. Lejarzo added.
In his message to the children, the Governor shared a message of hope and encouragement:
“𝘎𝘪𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘯 𝘮𝘰𝘨 𝘵𝘺𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘢 𝘴𝘢 𝘨𝘰𝘣𝘺𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘰—𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘸 𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘺𝘰 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘪 𝘴𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘪. 𝘒𝘪𝘯𝘪 𝘯𝘨𝘢 𝘭𝘶𝘨𝘢𝘳, 𝘶𝘴𝘢 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘪 𝘬𝘢 𝘥𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘯 𝘱𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘬 𝘴𝘢 𝘪𝘯𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘬𝘢𝘶𝘨𝘮𝘢𝘰𝘯.”
“You have been given a chance by the government—don’t waste it. This place is a way back to your future.”
Ultimately, the visit proved that public service is not just about plans—it can be felt, seen, and experienced. It is not just a promise—it is action.
