Residents in Sitio Cambaratic, Barangay Golden Valley, one of the Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas in the municipality of Mabini, benefited from the government’s “Medical Mission and Gift Giving Activity” on September 17, 2022.
Hundreds of families availed various social services like medical consultation, operation Tuli, Oplan Gupit, civil registration, free medicines and vitamins, COVID-19 vaccination, feeding program, and many others. They also received relief goods and hygiene kits.
The activity was a joint effort of the 1001st Infantry ‘PAG-ASA’ Brigade led by BGEN Jesus P Durante III, and the 7th Airforce Reserve Center, in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Mabini.
BGEN Durante underscored that the program aims to ensure that people living in the hinterlands are provided an opportunity to avail free government services and assistance.
In addition, Municipal Mayor Emerson L. Luego acknowledges the utmost efforts of the Philippine Army and the support of the office of Congressman Ruwel Peter Gonzaga and PLGU-DdO. He also added that the activity is a manifestation that truly government works.
The people of Sitio Cambaratic are very grateful for all the services they received from the government.
Also present during the activity were Vice Mayor Luego, Barangay Officials, troops from the 28th Infantry ‘KAMAGONG’ Battalion, and Philippine National Police.
On September 15-16, 2022, the LGU and troops of the 1001st Brigade worked hand in hand in the area for road clearing operations due to landslides. (R. Hortizano)
