Compostela Valley Province – A total of 149 land titles were distributed to the citizens of Brgy. Araibo, Pantukan, along with P300,000 in cash assistance through the “Oplan Pagbabago, Tunol Serbisyo Part 2” on a two-day program from July 4-5, 2019.

Municipal Mayor of Pantukan, Mayor Roberto Yugo, gave both the land titles and cash assistance last Friday, July 5, 2019, along with Gov. Jayvee Tyron Uy, through the presence of Provincial Administrator Virgilia S. Allones, 66th IB Commander LTC Roman S. Maborrang, Barangay Captain Henry Cabanao, and DILG PD Noel Duarte.

Through the Tunol Serbisyo program, land titles were also given by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) to the people of Araibo, along with a check total of P300,000 from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to the “Araibo Bugasan PAMANA SLP Association”.

Services such as dental services, clinical services, welfare services, government office services, giving of school supplies to the children and more were also made available during the program.

The Oplan Pagbabago was created by Provincial Governor Jayvee Tyron L. Uy under the executive order (EO) No. 028-2018, where Governor Uy is the Chairperson, Provincial Administrator Virgilia S. Allones as Vice Chairperson of the program and PSWDO Chief Josephine Frasco heads as the Action Officer.

Oplan Pagbabago employs the bayanihan or the whole of nation approach where local government units, national government agencies, non-government organizations converge their efforts to transform and rebuild communities. It is also part of the effort of the government to end local communist insurgency in the province.

The Oplan Pagbabago program was made for the welfare of the former rebels in the Province of Compostela Valley who have surrendered and asked for support from the government in hopes of a more peaceful life with their families. The program has reached and helped more than 7,000 people throughout the province. (Sean Seismundo, ID Comval, Photo by: Jonie Cadiz)
