PLGU Davao de Oro Launches the 1DdO Helpline System

DAVAO DE ORO – Amidst the course of the COVID-19 pandemic where general movement remains hindered by the restrictions set due to community quarantines, the Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU) of Davao de Oro officially launches the 1DdO Helpline system to provide its citizens with the quickest and most efficient way to access public government services. The 1DdO Helpline is an Information Technology system that keeps LGUs and National Government Agencies (NGAs) within arm’s reach for the public through the use of hotlines. Davao de Oro’s Executive Order No. 0062.2020 which officially created the 1DdO Helpline system was signed last September 8, 2020 by Provincial Governor Jayvee Tyron Uy.

In line with Republic Act No. 10137 otherwise known as the Data Privacy Act, the 1DdO Helpline system ensures the protection of each citizen’s privacy and confidentiality in each transaction, while also granting them with contactless, easy access to government services and help from their local Emergency Operations Centers (EOC).

On the upper hand, exposing Davao de Oro’s citizens to systems like the 1DdO Helpline draws technological development to the province through training people to take advantage of the conveniences that technology offers. For instance, using the helpline system not only simplifies government processes but also eliminates hassling long queues, physical transactions, paper trails, red tape, and further increases civil engagement thus promoting people-centered programs and projects.

The 1DdO Helpline connects the public to both provincial offices and NGAs such as TESDA, DOLE, DENR, DAR, PSA, DepEd, BFP, DPWH, NIA, NFA, and DTI so they may easily report or receive help on concerns related to emergencies, agriculture, employment, education, food and nutrition, psychosocial issues, subsidies, and health among others.
