Solar Dryer with Warehouse Turn Over Ceremony in Linda, Nabunturan, 2021

NABUNTURAN, DAVAO DE ORO — Davao de Oro Governor Jayvee Tyron Uy led on January 26, 2021, a Solar Dryer with Warehouse Turn-over and Ribbon-cutting Ceremony for the Nabunturan Farmers’ Cooperative (NAFAMCO) in Barangay Linda, Nabunturan.

The solar dryer with warehouse project is a great help to the farmers of Cacao, Coconut, Banana, and other crops in Linda which will not only make solar drying crops easier and more convenient, but will also supply ample and proper spaces to store harvests thus increasing shelf-life and reducing overall crop waste.

The said project is funded by the Department of Agriculture-Philippine Rural Area Development Program (DA-PRDP) and the Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU) of Davao de Oro, built with the end goal to aid the province’s farmers thus improving agricultural production, food security, and the economy of the province.

Other beneficiaries of the solar dryer with warehouse projects are rice-producing communities in the municipalities of Laak, Compostela, Monkayo; and Purok 1-Barangay Libasan in Nabunturan.
