PLGU grants add’l teachers’ supplies for DdO’s public schools

With its relentless efforts and mission to support the education sector, the Provincial Government through its Provincial Local School Board (LSB) chaired by Governor Dorothy Montejo-Gonzaga handed over provisions of teachers’ supplies to the public schools in Davao de Oro to cover their supplemental needs.

Through PLSB’s Special Education Fund (SEF), a total of 324 printers with ink cartridges and 6,500 reams of bond paper were distributed to the 324 schools in 18 school districts in the province.

DepEd DdO representative Dennis Alcano expressed his heartfelt gratitude and delight to the provincial government for the provisions given to them which will be a great aid in the effective and efficient delivery of services to their clientele. 

“On behalf of the learners, teachers, and personnel of DepEd DdO, daghan kaayung salamat sa mga gipanghatag. Indeed you are true to your mission to work hand in hand with its partners so that we can deliver good services to our citizens. Kanunay ang DepEd mapasalamaton” Alcano said.

Meanwhile, Governor Gonzaga emphasized in her message that these provisions were funded by the people’s taxes and should only be used for the DepEd’s priority programs, projects, and activities. 

“Gikan kini sa atong buhis…naa pa pud tay i-purchase puhon. Congratualtions and we wish nga kani magamit gayud arun makatabang sa inyung pagtudlo. ” Gov. Gonzaga said.

Moreover, Governor Gonzaga added that around 4000 monobloc chairs will be distributed this year also intended for public school beneficiaries. She promised that all public schools would receive the various provisions that they deserved as education is one of her priority development agendas in the province.

Further, LSB is a statutory body established by Republic Act No. 7160 known as the Local Government Code of 1991.  It’s responsible for distributing funds from the SEF to the local public school system to meet the auxiliary needs.
