Pyalitan has a little-known name: Cesar’s Falls. According to a story, the falls were "discovered" at the height of the communist armed insurgency in the 80s. And that in one battle, a soldier jumped off the falls to escape armed communist rebels. The body of the soldier, known only by his first name, was later recovered.

Pyalitan Falls
It is located northeast of Brgy. Mapawa, 7 kms from Poblacion. It is undeveloped. The falls is reachable after an hour of trekking by way of Brgy. Coronobe. The falls is composed of nine tiers and drop 120 feet into a six-foot deep pool.
From Tagum City, you can ride a bus for 1 hr. and a 25-minute ride to Maragusan and a stop at their public terminal. From the public terminal, hire a motorcycle to drive you to Barangay Mapawa, Maco.
