Newly elected officials from the province and various municipalities of Davao de Oro convened for the National Immunization Program Consultative Conference held at Molave Hotel, Tagum City, on August 5.
The Provincial Health Office and the Department of Health (DOH) Region XI spearheaded the activity which aimed to strengthen coordination between DOH and local leaders to ensure that every child in the province is protected against vaccine-preventable diseases.

On behalf of Governor Engr. Raul Mabanglo, Board Member Atty. May Codilla delivered the governor’s message:
“Sa hisgutanan nga kahimsog ubos sa KAP (Kahimsog, Assistance, Proyekto), parte niini ang preventive measures, treatment, ug aftercare. Ang immunization, pasok sa programang kahimsog tungod usa kini ka preventive measure nga naay mamahimong panlaban ang mga kabatan-onan sa mga sakit nga polio, measles ug uban pa. Importante nga dunay tukma ug haom nga information drive batok sa mga vaccines ug mga benepisyo niini.”
“In terms of health under KAP (Kahimsog, Assistance, Proyekto), this includes preventive measures, treatment, and aftercare. Immunization falls under the health program because it is a preventive measure that equips children with defenses against diseases such as polio, measles, and others. It is important to have accurate and appropriate information drives about vaccines and their benefits.”


The program also included a Pledge of Commitment, where officials formally vowed to strengthen immunization campaigns to achieve herd immunity in the community.
Among those present at the conference were Councilor Hugh Zamora Apsay and other local government officials from the province.
