Women power through ICT
As the provincial government of Davao De Oro sees the importance of women in the development of society, they also continue to conduct programs that empower them.
In partnership with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), women from different sectors were invited to participate in the Digital Literacy Training and Data Privacy Act and Cybersecurity Orientation held on July 16-17 and July 19, 2018 respectively.
A total of 20 women immersed themselves in the Digital Literacy Training which includes Computer Basics and Operating System, Word Processing using MS Word, Spreadsheet using MS Excel, Multimedia Presentation using MS Powerpoint, Basic Networking and Trouble shooting and Internet basics such as sending an email.
Meanwhile, 100 participants composed of 70 women from different sectors and 30 Capitol employees participated in the Data Privacy Act and Cybersecurity Orientation.
Joyzel Odi, Information Technology and Communication Division chief said “The training’s are the main services of our Tech4ed Center. They are aimed to promote development for every comvalenyo by providing digital awareness, literacy, skills and livelihood opportunities.”
“Salamat kaayo ani nga training nga inyong gihatag. Og naa pa moy ingon ani nga seminar, hinaot nga apil pa mi bisan pa toud og ‘golden’ age nami pero ang learnings maam wala gyud pagkahuman, continuous gyud na siya,” said one of the participants of the Digital Literacy Training.
