World Tourism Day: Stakeholders’ Day concludes Comval Tourism Month celebration
In celebration of World Tourism Day, Comval provincial tourism office concluded the month long celebration with Data Privacy and Cybersecurity orientation participated by its stakeholders.
The event was held at RAJ Hotel, Tagum City on September 27, 2018.
This year, the activities were centered towards using digital technologies as means of promoting the province’s growing tourism industry as it bears the theme, “Tourism and the Digital Transformation”.
It aims to provide opportunities for innovation and create an avenue for the industry to establish a more sustainable and responsible tourism sector.
The launching of the Comval I-portal on September 17 marked the beginning of the tourism month. Comval I-portal is the newest government application designed by the Information Technology and Communication Development Division of the province. It allows the user to hover, send and secure information from the different information channels operated by the province.
It was followed by Davao De Oro Governor Jayvee Tyron L. Uy’s second State of the Province Address (SOPA) at Monkayo Dome, CVP On September 18. On the same day, the 2nd Leg for the Comval I- Portal caravan was also introduced.
On September 20 – 21, tourism Comval in partnership with the Department of Tourism (DOT-XI), conducted a two-day Digital Marketing training for LGUs, national government agencies and the academe with well-respected resource speakers Atty. Emil Marañon, Mr. Haj Kabalu, Mr. Jay Jaboneta and Ms. Priscilla Tripoli. They imparted training on photography and how to use different digital platform such as social media, more effectively.
To equip the Tourism, Information Officers of Davao De Oro, the national government offices and the academe with the skills and knowledge on how to setup their own website using WordPress, a Website Development Training was held on September 24-26. It aims to educate, promote and improve the dissemination of information to the public about the different services offered in their respective offices via an effective website.
