3 LGUs receive 2021 Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance Award

Out of 11 LGUs in the province, 3 LGUs stood out including Maco, Mawab, and Monkayo as they were awarded the 2021 Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance after passing the Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA) for the year 2021.

The 2021 Conferment of the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance took place at Paramount Garden Complex, Riverfront Corporate Center, Davao City on December 02, 2023.

Organized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) XI, Regional Sub-Committee for the Welfare of Children (RSCWC) XI chaired by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (XI), the event recognized the untiring efforts of these LGUs in terms of investing on the programs that cater to the children’s well-being.

Accompanying the 3 LGUs during the awarding ceremony were the Davao de Oro Provincial Interagency Monitoring Task Force including Provincial DILG, PSWDO, PPDO, PHO, and DepEd.

CFLGA is a thorough assessment of LGU’s child-friendly initiatives and basic social services for children and youth. All Cities and Municipalities undergo annual assessment through the following indicators under the 4 core rights of children: the right to survival, development, protection, and participation including governance.

Additionally, the result of the 2022 CFLGA will be announced at the end of this year, with the official conferment scheduled for the year 2024. (Photo by PSWDO)
