Governor Dorothy Montejo-Gonzaga, the guest of honor and speaker, joins the celebration of the 16th Founding Anniversary of the 1001st Infantry “PAG-ASA” Brigade on August 26, 2022, with the theme: “Building Resiliency and Sustaining the Gains towards Peace and Development.”
She acknowledged and led the awarding ceremony for the selected personalities and agencies that have been instrumental and significantly contributed to the mission and accomplishments of the brigade.
In her message, Gov Gonzaga congratulated and was proud of the 1001st nation-building efforts headed by BGen Jesus P Durante III in bringing peace and developments in the province through the whole-of-nation approach.
BGen Durante highlighted the accomplishments of the brigade in addressing insurgency and neutralizing and dismantling the high-ranking personalities of the communist groups. He also said that the celebration is a fitting reward for the brigade’s selfless and dedicated service to secure lasting and inclusive peace for all.
Moreover, he extended his gratitude to its partner agencies, the provincial and municipal local government units, and national government agencies for their continuous support of their programs.
Run for a cause dubbed “Pag-asa, Dagan sa Katawhan, Kalinaw Bantayan 2022”, is one of the pre-anniversary activities participated by running enthusiasts coming from the different municipalities of the Davao Region. The main objective of the event is to raise funds to extend financial assistance to the people’s organizations from the provinces of Davao del Norte, Davao de Oro, and Agusan del Sur.
