Davao City- March 7, 2024- The Province of Davao de Oro celebrated a successful run at the PRDP Davao Region Awards, bagging a multitude of recognitions for its outstanding performance. The province secured the prestigious Silver Award for Outstanding Performance and Overall Execution of Sub-Projects, solidifying its commitment to rural development. A fitting recognition and honor for Davao de Oro coinciding with the celebration of its 26th Founding Anniversary on March 8.
Davao de Oro’s dedication extended beyond project execution, as it earned the distinction of being the 2nd-Best LGU in the Davao Region. This achievement underscores the province’s transparency and efficiency in project planning, conceptualization implementation monitoring and fund utilization.
No less than the Department of Agriculture Regional Executive Director and at the same PRDP Project Director, Abel James Monteagudo handed the awards to the different LGU project focal persons. Also present in the activity are Deputy Regional and project Director, Marila L. Corpuz,PhD,Regional Focal persons, Phoebe D. Orbe, Engr. Mark Baddongon and Janet F. Dobli.
Living up to its tagline, “Government Works” as the centerpiece and motivation for excellence in governance and in accessing projects for the rural folks from the PRDP-Department of Agriculture. Davao de Oro as it secured a total of ten additional awards:
✅ Largest Portfolio of I-REAP Sub-Projects
✅ Most Number of Operational Sub-Projects
✅ Most Number of Enterprise Projects Approved
✅ Most Number of Commodities Included in the Commodity Investment Plan
✅ Most Number of Completed Projects
✅ Highest Number of Submitted Required I-REAP Projects
✅ Fastest Completed for Other Agricultural Infrastructure
✅ Fastest Completed Sub-Projects for Farm to Market Road (FMR)
✅ 2nd Best LGU in applied Geo-Tagging tool compliance
✅ Plaque of Recognition – InfoACE of Davao de Oro
On hand to receive the awards are the Provincial Project Management Implementing Unit (PPMIU) members headed EnP Alicia M. Graciadas, Dr. Rolando S. Simene, IREAP head, Assistant Provincial Agriculturist Ronald Sibayan, IPLAN Feliciano P. Crucio, Jr., GGU, Prime Rendon, SES, Jessie Calamba, RROW, Joven Lenueva, Finance, Ms. Rabaya and M-E Kennneth de la Cruz.
Also sharing the limelight are Maragusan Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MAMPCO) and Maragusan Banana Growers Cooperative (MAGROW) for Best Business Plan and Fastest sub-project approval.
This impressive haul signifies Davao de Oro’s exceptional efforts in driving progress through the PRDP program. The province’s commitment to effective project implementation and transparency as it positions as a leader in rural development in Davao Region.
