Gov Gonzaga officially opens “2022 DdO Employees Sportsfest” - Province of Davao de Oro

Blazing heat ignites the Provincial Capitol Grounds of Davao de Oro after Governor Dorothy Montejo-Gonzaga leads the ceremonial lighting of torch and urn which symbolizes the opening of the two-day 2022 Employees Sportsfest Competition.

In her message, Gov Gonzaga emphasized the importance of Sportsfest as a venue to unify capitol employees and showcase their golden talents and promote a healthy lifestyle.

She also added that the activity is part of the month-long celebration of the 122nd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, an opportunity to recognize and reward the relentless dedication of the civil servants in serving the public.

Anchored on this year’s theme: “Transforming Public Service in the Next Decade: Honing Agile and Future-Ready Servant Heroes”, the employees from different offices were clustered into four teams; Captain America, Ironman, Hulk, and Thor. Each team carries its power – the power of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and respect among employees throughout the competition.

On the first day, September 15, 2022, each team competes in the banner raising, sajaw competition ft. TikTok music, and game proper for the amazing race and ball games. The second day is the continuation of ball games and the battle of “Tatak Davao de Oro -Talentadong Lingkod Bayani” Battle of the Bands.

Joining Governor Gonzaga during the opening program were Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board Members, and Provincial Department and Assistant Department Heads.

Aside from the sports fest, a series of professional and developmental activities are lined up for the whole month’s celebration. (Rheafe Hortizano -Information Office)
