The “Effective Writing Workshop: Enhancement of Content Production” brought together communicators from the national, provincial, and municipal governments, as well as student writers, to hone the skills required to be an effective writer for their institution.
On July 14, esteemed resource speaker Ena Marie Olivares-Dizon, an Instructor at UP Mindanao, Davao City specializing in TV & Radio broadcast communication and online/print media production, facilitated the one-day training workshop held at the Sanitary Function Hall in Nabunturan town.
In the presence of Supervising Administrative Officer Joy Madrid, representing PHRMDO head Lara Zaphire Kristy Bermejo, hoped that the participants’ captured learnings would be used and shared in their offices to facilitate the effective and timely release of information to the general public.
“To sustain those things [learnings], dapat from time to time i-practice gyud nato para ma improve pa gyud ang atong writing skills… looking forward to your possible outputs to your respective offices or agencies,” Madrid said.
Student Writer Jheanna Gabriel of Nabunturan National Comprehensive High School, together with other participants, expressed her thanks to the provincial government for the opportunities given to them, saying “thankful kaayu mi sa inyung pag-invite unta ipadayun pa ninyu ni nga event ug maka apil gihapon mi next time with other students”.

Macapili, representing Governor Dorothy Montejo-Gonzaga, reminded participants of their role in disseminating information that persuaded people to believe on it as the government is the primary source of credible information and also reiterated the significance of unbiased reporting.
He added “we have the challenges to deliver the credible information…but the model of the people in delivering what is the government today is through our write-ups as a new journalist in the 21st century”.
Spearheaded by the PAO-Information and Public Relations Division and the Provincial Human Resource Management and Development Office (PHRMDO), this training-workshop is one of the learning interventions conducted to capacitate and empower not only the personnel in government service but also the other development partners.
