New DdO LMP officers pledge commitment to deliver govt service

Municipal Mayors of Davao de Oro convened at the Big 8 Corporate Hotel in Tagum City on August 19, 2022 to pledge their commitment as the new set of officers of the League of Municipalities in the Philippines-Davao de Oro (LMP), right after an election held by the body on the same day.

The League has the role of fostering unity and cooperation, and embody the voices of each municipality to address concerns and aspirations for an inclusive growth and development of the whole province.

Municipal Mayor of Mawab Ruperto S. Gonzaga III was elected by the body as the president of the league, together with Pantukan Mayor Leonel D. Ceniza as Vice President, Nabunturan Mayor Myrocel C. Balili as Secretary General, Maragusan Mayor Angelito J. Cabalquinto as Treasurer, Mayor Emerson L. Luego of Mabini as the PIO, Mayor Arthur Carlos Voltaire Rimando of Maco as the auditor, and the rest of the Mayors as the Board of Directors.

In a statement of Mayor Gonzaga as the league president, the mayor accentuated the role of LMP as the bridge of the municipalities to convey concerns affecting municipal jurisdictions and formulate solutions to matters that arise. Mayor Gonzaga expressed his gratitude to his co-mayors for the trust and confidence bestowed into him to lead the new set of officers of LMP-DdO, “Akong ipaambit sa akong mga kaubanang Mayor nga igiya nako sila sa angayan ng buhaton, paningkamutan gyud nako ang akong pagka-presidente sa liga nga mahatag nako ang eksakto nga programa ug proyekto nga walay mahibilin, mulambo ang tibook probinsya ug ang onse ka munisipyo.” said Mayor Gonzaga.

The new set of LMP officers took their oath before Congressman Ruwel Peter Gonzaga representing Governor Dorothy Montejo-Gonzaga. Further, the municipal mayors in an interview conveyed their plans and programs in their respective municipalities that will complement and align with the province’s blueprint of governance for Davao de Oro.

DILG-DdO Provincial Director Noel C. Duarte attended the event together with LMP National Communications and Information Management Chief Regina Osma, representative of Mayor Nelson Sala of DavSur, former LMP Pres. Roberto Yugo, and former Mayor Lema Bolo of Compostela.
