To strengthen the communication programs and become the main amplifiers of information, PLGU Davao de Oro and partner agencies successfully conducted the first coordination meeting on September 20, 2022, at the Provincial Police Office, Conference Room.
The meeting aims to organize a support group of press corps called Davao de Oro Defense Press Corps, consisting of the communications group from the different security and safety sectors.
Governor Dorothy Montejo-Gonzaga represented by Edward B. Macapili, Executive Assistant III for Communication and Public Information, underscored that everyone has the right to know the information and the programs of the national, provincial, and municipal government units.
Likewise, PCOL Benedicto F Faco, DdOPPO Officer-in-Charge, emphasized the importance of organizing the press corps as a proper medium of information dissemination so that the accomplishments of each agency will reach the eyes, ears, minds, and hearts of the public.
He also added that understanding the importance of good, effective, and efficient communication is essential to counter fake news and deliver accurate and timely information to the public.
The meeting ends with full support and commitment offered by the national government agencies.
